Ethical Value

One should not completely strip themselves of all moral principles, for that would lead to an instinctive sense of crisis and coerce them towards absurdity unless done with absolute precaution. Eliminating all ingrained sense of ethics and pursuing egoistic tendencies will not make them justifiable, only comprehensible to the observer as well as the individual mind. Personally, love and connection is my foundation of value. It serves in ways I cannot consciously understand and guides me towards decisions that turned out to be fruitful in the long run. To me, value and love are inextricably tied, and hurting others so that I may reap a conscious reward of some kind is not rational as my value and pride in my ethical foundation is more valuable than any present desire for materialistic gain. I am not claiming that love is objectively tied with value due to the subjectivity of value in human experience. However, due to its commonality in man, one can assume that love for another is founded in either evolutionary produced morality to aid humanity in its cohesion or founded by both one's surroundings. When understanding it from this perspective rather than facilitating it in metaphysical reasoning, the value of love and empathy comes from neurobiological factors that occupy the common man. The abstractness of love is why it may seem metaphysical in nature, however, its divinity is stripped by the advancement of scientific understanding regarding the brain and its chemistry.
